The Doctor Who: The Underwater Menace Steelbook Blu-ray is a limited edition collector’s release of a classic Second Doctor adventure, originally broadcast in 1967. Starring Patrick Troughton in one of his earliest outings as the Doctor, this four-part serial plunges viewers into the mysterious depths of the lost city of Atlantis.
In this surreal and suspenseful story, the Doctor and his companions—Polly (Anneke Wills), Ben (Michael Craze), and Jamie (Frazer Hines)—arrive in Atlantis, only to discover that the city is under the influence of the fanatical Professor Zaroff (Joseph Fürst). Zaroff has convinced the Atlanteans he can raise their city from the sea, but the Doctor uncovers a far more dangerous truth: Zaroff’s plan could destroy the entire planet. As time runs out, the Doctor must stop the underwater menace before catastrophe strikes.
